    Mrs. Capt-D, Liam and Avery!

    Whats in your wallat?...

...moreover what do you carry with you into the woods.

Being new at this and on a budget with a second baby due to arrive the end of October, I have started to acquire a pack and am looking to fill it with the esentials need during a successful hunt.

    Things I have purchased

-Waist Pack (I refuse to call it a fanny pack!)so it will fit under the climber I still need to get.
-Binoculars and inexpensive pair of 12x25s
    -permethrin spray
-camo (I have some cheap stuff but may pick up a leafy wear type suit)
-haul rope (30' of parachute cord)
    -spare gerber gator folding knife
    -surefire flashlight
    -led head lamp
-bow (just tuned by Len including a new trophy take drop away)
-arrows (plan on carrying three with three blade muzzys and one field point for marking blood if needed).
    -compass
-topos of area intend on hunting
    -rubber boots

Things I intend to picking up
-equilizer 24 stand(yes i know I can get a summit cheaper, but after much consideration this is what I have chosen)
    -thermacell
    -camo gloves
-fixed blade knife with a gut hook
    -larger 3/8 drag rope
    -scent eliminator spray

    What do you all carry?

    my list is for bowhunting

in addtion to what you have,

#1 FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEM, you did not list it so if you don't have it don't buy anything else until you got one, if you need one, I recommend (no affiliation) Hunter Safety Systems.

#2 RANGE FINDER, if you don't own a lazer range finder and bow hunt, you need one, I have several if you want a used one at a good deal

small bottle of Deet if they (skeeters) get really bad. If you have thermacel, may not need it. But if you are walking, thermacel is not as effective as if you are sitting still. When you go track the big monster after dark in early season, Deet is the ticket

2 screw in rubber coated bow hooks, 2 so if you drop one

    small folding saw

    head net/face mask

GPS depending on how remote you are hunting, not needed for short trips but handy none the less in large unfamiliar areas, espically if you need to call in help.

cell phone on vibrate, for emergency use ("Kay come get me, I fell out of my tree"... I made this call, was busted up pretty good, fractured hip, torn knee ligs, deep brused abdomin, I needed an ambulance)

    calls, grunt, bleat, predator

    extra release

    sometimes camera, sometimes not

screw in quiver block, I use a Quicky brand detachable quiver

    1 bandaid

    armguard

chest protector for COLD weather (actually called a breast protector, keeps you clothes from interfearing with your string)

    water bottle

    pee bottle

    the Truth

MM, I will have to admit that deer have died from being to close to the sausage grinder at the wrong time, but we have done a lot more watching than shooting.

-Binoculars and inexpensive pair of 12x25sGet a good pait of 9x40's 12 power will be too strong for most bow situations IMO
-permethrin sprayDon't need to pack it with you. You treat the clothing you wear at least 24 hours before wear.
-camo (I have some cheap stuff but may pick up a leafy wear type suit)
-haul rope (30' of parachute cord)
    -spare gerber gator folding knife
    -surefire flashlight
    -led head lamp
-bow (just tuned by Len including a new trophy take drop away)
-arrows (plan on carrying three with three blade muzzys and one field point for marking blood if needed).roll of surveyors tape, or reflective tape for marking trails works much better.
    -compass
-topos of area intend on hunting
    -rubber boots

Things I intend to picking up
-equilizer 24 stand(yes i know I can get a summit cheaper, but after much consideration this is what I have chosen)
    -thermacell
    -camo gloves
-fixed blade knife with a gut hook
    -larger 3/8 drag rope
-scent eliminator sprayCan make at home....I posted the recipe a while back, it's equal parts distilled water and peroxide, some baking soda and a little scent free soap. I'll dig out the exact proportions.

    What do you all carry?

Drag rope, 4 arrows, two fixed blade knives, rubber gloves, two face masks, two pairs of gloves, release, wind checker, grunt, bleat can, range finder( for bow I use a nikon 440, dark viewfinder, but still works well.) Bino's usually Steiner 9x40's.( kinda big, but they work just fine). License, tags, zip ties, rubber hooks, HUNTER SAFETY SYSTEM, headlamp, strong flashlight, phone so I can post live reports here. Video camera, tree "tripod".

    That's about all for now

Are you going from the truck to your tree stand 5 min away or are you packing into the Bitterroot mountains for a full day hunt??

Where and what you hunt (and hunt with) will dictate whats in your pack.

    How about T.P.

Exactly why I always wear an undershirt. I have quite a few that have no sleeves and are cut like belly shirts.
