What a year!!

So in what may have been a last ditch effort to get my middle daughter her first deer this year, we had success!! Our season was supposed to be cut short because of my hip surgery but my buddy that I helped get him his first deer this year offered to take Maddie tonight to see if they could have some luck. Thought that was pretty awesome so we drove down to the property and those two headed to the double stand where all 5 deer from the property had been taken so far and I drove around the back to crutch my broke ass to one of the ground blinds. So right about sunset (1700) I heard a shot that I was sure was them. Sure enough my buddy sends me a note to say Maddie shot her deer!! Evidently, two bucks came down the hedge row and popped out in front of them at about 100m. Soon as the one stopped BAM down he went, right in the front shoulder! No wait, I need to back up. Evidently my buddy forgot to chamber a round in my daughters gun! So the first squeeze was just a click. No worries, he handed her his gun and she then put one in the shoulder! Awesome stuff both my girls getting deer their first year in the woods! Definitely have a full freezer now!

Couldn't be happier! Going to be an awesome Christmas!

Does that mean you're gonna keep your crippled butt at home?????? I'm glad Mattie got her deer. But a smart girl like her has learned her lesson, next time any "friend" of your's takes her hunting. Bein's you made her "dry fire" on her first deer, maybe she oughta just snap the trigger when ya'll get in the stand. You know, just to make sure "there's one in there"! Good job Mattie!!!!!!!!! Mattie, it's only gonna be a few more year's till you're old enough to move out. Till then, EXPECT more abuse!!! Just sayin', Frank

I sure do what I can!! Do the right thing and good things happen. I really do appreciate your offer, Frank. We'll definitely be getting together on the water or in the woods before too long. Worst case, when J gets home. I think we're going to do a snow goose hunt in feb or march around curituck sound if you're interested. Maybe you can smell like a rose too!
