Weekend: Recap That's why they Call it Huntin and Fishin and not Killin
It was a fun weekend to get out in a blind on friday and saturday. Run home and go offshore 65 miles on sunday. Got to spend some time with some good friends and met some new friends.
Didn't do any killing, but thats not what these 2 sports are about anyway. Its about the journey not the killing, well it is for me at least.
It would be nice to put a bunch of protein up for the long winter, but we will be back in the hunting blind soon.
I am disappointed at myself for not making a recovery on that doe, I'll become better from it and rectify my issues for next time.
Offshore that was my last trip I think for 2011 the night bite is the best option now and we don't really have the rig for fall overnight trips. So we will be chasing stripers and Taug coming up.

Damn that pole saw! That stand is 25' in the air and the saw is still hanging out up there. I was in that stand on Saturday night after Tim left and had a small spike get within 8 yds, but the does held up at 40 and never stayed still long enough to let me get a shot.
A small fox came running across the field from a few hundred yards away and the lead doe took off after it. All 4 deer ended up in tow and that was it for the night.

having fun is what is should be about, and makes you appreciate those special times when do get something all the more. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
