I have always been very fond of Herb Jones. He has done some breathtaking pencil drawings, don't even get me started on his watercolors. I'll try to get a few shots from pops or grandad's house soon for you.

After almost 20 years of DU, I've got enough friggin' prints to wallpaper my house. Also chaired the banquet committee...got stuck with a few I didn't really want just bidding the price up
I'd have to say favorite is Terry Redlin- I don't think anybody captures the colors of "magic time" like he does. This one is in my study... http://www.redlinart.com/store/278.html |

James P. Fisher
Did the '75 fed stamp and several State ones. First one to go in and win with a decoy (canvasback) as the centerpiece, exquisite detail in the wood grain, flaking paint, pellet holes, in the back a pair (hen and drake) flying. He did a few dogs but finding a print close to impossible. I have a mountain of his stuff including a bunch of remarqued artist proofs...

Well Randy, it's like the Godfather, once you're in the committee, if you try to get out, they just keep pulling you back in...LOL
Good luck with your banquet. I still enjoy going but it's nice to be able to chill out and have fun instead of working all night. |
