Good luck starting Friday.
I am using a Canon Vixia HV40 no special lens while filming deer hunts just the way it came out of the box. I did purchase Mossyoak Skins for the camera through Campbell Outdoors. The newer housings are pretty shinny so I camoed it up. I am using a Camera arm that I have had for years that I bought at a hunting show. I bought a new Huntercam Cradle arm earlier this year but I have gotten so used to the old camera arm I haven't even tried it yet. On the camera arm is the most important part that really gives you smooth motion when moving along with the deer. That is a good camera head. I am using a Manfrotto (Distributed by Bogen) 128RC Micro Fluid Head with Quick Release. Not top of the line but very reasonably priced. The quick release is important so you can easily remove the camera. As far as editing goes I am still using Pinnacle 11 and Smartsound Music selections for the videos. Smart sound works with the Pinnacle music generator and they offer many many types of background music. I save the video projects and videos on a G-Drive external. I always save them in HD 24p. The HV40 will do 30p but it really isn't needed. I Upload them to the internet as MPEG4 from the HD file so they come out pretty clear. You can buy RAW storage space on line for really killer quality but I really don't see the need for that. One tip get up high in your stand. I am normally in the nose bleed section 20-30ft up. You can get by with much more movement but the Shots with a bow are tougher. I like climbers for doing video. In fact I have a permanent mount for my camera arm on one of my climbers. And yes I carry way to much stuff to the stand Its a lot of work doing video and hunting at the same time but it sure is fun and challenging trying to capture footage and kills on video.....If you have any other questions feel free to ask...............Mark
very fine job on the video and congrats on a super season. You have sure put in a lot of time in the field and reaped the benfits. It's really amazing what you have done with the bow.
Thanks for all the effort to video and then produce it for us to share.
Glad you liked the video. One day we will have to get together and talk. I have followed your threads at your place and enjoy reading them. the Camera has taken the place of the bow in most cases. Passes the time in the tree when you can do a little video every sit. Its just a pain carrying everything to the tree!!...Mark
