A Very Lucky Bambi

It was a quick run back to the swamp today. Hunting wasn't the goal. Rather I wanted to do a couple quick scouts and set up my trail cams... Too lazy to load up my new black powder gun. I just toted a bow.
Spot "A" was wet but a few tracks so I set one there. The "B" spot where I stung the boar earlier this year was moderately dry. I walked down the middle of the road. No stealth about it.
Smoking a cig and just clumpping along. I stopped at one spot to look for tracks. I was bent down when I heard sploosh sploosh sploosh heading my way..."Nah must be my imagination... Its mid day, I stand out like a sore thumb... What the???"
I stood up to see a spike comming in... Surely I'm busted... He just kept comming straight into me. I drew back. He kept comming... Finally stopping at the edge of the road I was on. Slowly he stepped up the bank now at four yards and looked right at me.
I have two in the freeze... What now? One in chunks and one to be ground. How much meat could I possibly use? The stupid little spike just sat there trying to taste my air... I decided I have enough bambi burger for a while. I eased off and stuck my tongue out at him instead.... That just confused the hell out of him. He looked at me puzzled like and just walked on down the road...
Any other day I would have pronged him but today I was in a rare mood with a full belly. I'll let the cameras stew for a couple days and see what I can do about taking a pig instead...
