well went out on some public land in the James River today to try to kill some ducks and geese. Got out there late knowing they fly just before dark. Pretty quickly we had 3 geese start honking called them over and they took a couple circles. They most have not liked something because they were about to split so we popped a couple off at them but they were high. Saw a single drake mallard but he wasn't interested. Sat for another hour and the day was over start wading out the get the deeks and of course the geese start coming had about a group of 10 come right in shooting distance but couldn't shoot them and about another 50 that we just watched as we paddled back. At least we saw something and got to shoot the guns but no luck and a little frustration watching those geese fly over but that is just what they do.

not sure what it is called, but we put in at maidens landing in goochland and paddled up river to the first of a couple islands.
