    Trapathon 07/08??

Ok I want to know who would be interested in a walk through picture and maybe a video from start to finish on trapping. I talked about it alittle last year and this year I think i'm going to do it.

The season comes in this saturday Dec. 1st

If there are enough people wanting to see this I will if not i'll put up some pictures as I can

John I was reading an article in a magizine the other day on Scent control and hunting. And it says that trappers are the masters of scent elemination. Does it play a major role in the sucess? Were Im hunting I some times see guys traps in the marsh. It smells so bad back there, that I cant see how they can smell anything over that marsh mud smell. There are alot of traps that guys never went and got I will have pics on Monday or Tuesday.

Bobby no trap should be left on a marsh no matter what. Sometimes you might slip by one and pick it up a week later or someone behind you might find it. This shouldn't happen but it does.

As far as the scent, yes it play a huge roll in catching critters(coons, foxes both grey and red) and so on. As far as the rats go its not as important as with foxes and coons.

Grey foxes are some of the hardest critters to catch, they will notice a limb that has fallen in its path and will go a totally different way. The trappers these days are getting sloppier and sloppier with the way they trap. The old timers did it for a living, today they are only a hand full of people that do it for a living.

You look at earth a totally different way when you are trapping. You learn what does what at different times of the day. All of their movements and why they do that. I'll get into some of that in a video if admin would want to do it.

Chris the end of the season is just the start, we have no plans on quiting this year. Striper fishing now than heading south for tuna than right back up here in april for sharks than right back to tunas and marlin
