    Trail cameras....

tell me what you use. I have a bushnell infared and tenacios9Steve)wants one to put out at the property. What do you use and post some pics. I am happy with mine at the price(150) but he wants input and examples...

heres my first bucks to visit. They aint large but there are bigger ones on the place. They are just shy right now. They will crave the carbs soon enough.

how that works Austin. That seems like the deal! They act very different from past years when I was not going out there and switching sd cards.

Nice pics Mike, looks like a bachelor party!!! Guys I want to buy a trail camera, what I want to know is which ones ya'll have used that give the best pics. What do ya'll think about the infared vs. flash type cameras? Does anybody use the ones that have internet capability? Give me some advice!!! Thanks in advance.

I use a Reconix, it is very expensive but well worth the money. It is black and white photo it gives you time temp and moon phase. I would not put a flash camera in the woods. In my experience in a very heavily pressured area you wil only ever get one piucture on the camera in that spot. For some reason they avoid the camera spot.

even with the infared. Every one is looking at the camera and I have spent the most time not seeing deer this year. I love seeing what is there but they know I am after them before I ever am really after them. 90% of the pics I have are after dark.

I would love to have one that sends to my computer, tell us more. As far as flash goes, I have mine set to take only one pic every five minutes. I have watched many times when the flash goes off and have yet to see it spook a deer. Now if it just kept flashing every few seconds, might be a different story. We have tons of pics of deer with flash and then again 5 min intervals showing they were still around. We have Moultrie that we like because of battery life although the pic quality is not as good as some of the others I see.

I had a Moultrie flash camera. It only lasted 2 years then the screen started to show scrambled #'s and letters. I guess it got water in it. I've heard people say the flash scares them away and I know people that will pull the cameras at the beginning of the season b/c of it. I've never had a problem with it. Sometimes I would set it so it would take a picture every minute and end up with hundreds of pictures a day. The flash never bothered them. It took nice clear pictures and displayed temp, moon, date and time. I would love to have one of the interent cameras. It's sometimes a pain going and checking the cameras every few days, especially when chiggers are around.

I have a couple of Flash Moultrie’s, a stealth cam infrared and just picked up a wild view infrared. Of all of them the wild view is by far the easiest to set up and operate - the stealth cam is a ***** to program.
I hunt private land but we do have our share of trespassers so none of my cameras were over the $120 range, I would be very unhappy if a $300 Cuddeback came up missing.
Some are infrared and some have the flash, I agree with the other comments that neither really spook the deer after the first couple of nights. I have one set out behind my house that I can see it flashing from my kitchen when it goes off and it doesn’t bother them a bit. Sometimes they will flinch like they are jumping the string but they stay right there and finish eating.
For a decent camera at a reasonable price that is easy to operate and takes good shots I recommend the old Moultrie’s.
