Third time's almost a charm

After seeing 4 bucks on Monday run around like crazy chasing everything in sight, I was pretty excited to get back in the woods this afternoon. I hunted the same swamp but a different stand this time. About 150 yards down the creek of the stand I hunted last Friday and Monday. I passed on several does hoping to have bullwinkle following them now that the rut is beginning. Later in the day I almost gave in. 2 does came from my right, crossed the creek and stepped into an opening right at 20 yards. I draw back, put the pin behind the front shoulder and thought to myself, "Self, what the hell are you doing?". I decided to let them walk and I'm glad I did. Not 3 minutes later, I look to my right where they came from and there he is. A nice 7 pointer, borderline shooter. He comes down the same path they did, crosses the creek same place they did and steps into the same opening at 20 yards. I draw back again, put the pin behind the shoulder and can't make up my mind. Shoot him or let him grow up another year or two. I take a quick glance back to the right and see another one. This buck is bigger, much bigger. I let the 7 pointer go and he continues down the same path those 2 does took. The bigger buck was pushing 3 does my way. Hero or zero at this point. It's getting dark and I'm almost out of time. The 3 does got behind me and hung a left heading away from me. I guess he followed because I never did get a chance to see him again. Would've loved to see him up close. Either way it was a fun hunt. Saw 12 does and 2 bucks. Hopefully I'll get to see that one again.
