Are these Mule deer or Blacktail deer??

Help me out here guys....in northern California (outside of Santa Rosa) two weeks ago, I rode up the coast and saw TONS of deer feeding in the grass just a matter of yards from the beach. Anyway, got plenty of pictures of them but cannot figure out if they are mule deer or blacktail deer. I thought they were mule deer until I saw a hunting show on tv where they were hunting blacktail deer in the same area as I was in and they looked almost identical to mule deer. The first two pictures are of 3 bucks that were no more than 30 yards from the road (sorry it's a bit fuzzy---the sun was going down). The other pictures were taken with 10 yards and some as close as 5 yards. Since I'm in NC, I've never seen either of the species so hopefully someone can positively identify them...only wish they were as tame in NC as these were!

Only the tip of the tail is black on a Mule Deer. What you have there are Blacktails. By the way they can cross breed and really screw IDing them up. With the size of a couple of those bucks, I wouldn't be surprised if that is not the case. Nice pics.
