Carried on our annual Thanksgiving morning hunt with a few friends in a local swamp. The recent deluge of rain had the swamp out of it's banks so we couldn't reach the hole we normally hunt. Still had a good morning, ended up with seventeen total, nine mallards, six gadwall and two woodies. Unfortunately due to the strong current we were only able to recover ten. My dog Boomer slept awful good on the ride home
After a spending the day with family and a great meal by the misses, I headed east for a few days where I found all our blinds turned over and all the standing corn down as well by the heavy winds. With some addtional hard work we were rewarded with a good hunt...We probably had in excess of 10 thousand birds when we went in Saturday morning, unfortunately most left at first light...Still had a good hunt and a great time with a couple good friends
Our morning take, a mixed bag for sure!
jazz, making one of the last retrieves...she was flat wore out as you can see
Can't wait to do it again!
