Well Its all over. Duck season ended on Saturday for us up here in good ole DE. What a year, Killed a bunch, missed a bunch more, and get to add another year in the journal.
Killed a good bit of greenheads, stacked up some buffles, laid some honkers out, and even threw in a few exotics. Even better had a lot of laughs(most at my expense) with some great freinds in the blindSeason started off real rough as i had boat problems and just about totaled my truck 2 days before oppening day. But we were able to pick up a pretty good lease which turned my season around in just a few short hunts. Personally this was one of the better one's if not the best for me as far as waterfowling seasons. I Woke up this morning in a full state of depression. Now come's the worst time of year for me haha. Oh well we still have the snow chickens to pick on as well as Frat partys....

It was a great season Shane. Stll love the mallards in the creek with 6 in of water... One of my most memorable days this year... When can we kill some white birds?

Just git the net rig out of the boat and stored till next year, working on the new lease. Now I can go back to fishing and just watch the birds...

We had a big push of nre birds show up with this last front..go figure......glad it is over now...

11 Black Ducks
11 Mallards
2 Widgeons
3 GW Teal
3 BW Teal
1 Pintail
2 Black / Mallard Hybrids
3 Gadwalls
1 Bull Canvas Back
3 Canada Geese (only goose hunted once limit was 3)

I did not get lucky enough to kill a woody either, they showed up late and took a crack at a couple but......

I did not hunt the reef but twice and only killed one pintail, no redheads or Brant, the swamp was too good.

Maybelle fetched 53 ducks, all quality (we did not even shoot at buffs, coots or mercruisers, sign of a good year)

Fleet is mothballed, dog depressed.
