Thanksgiving hunts

We had a full three days of hunting . Thursday we were the only ones to show up with hounds. Had atleast two kills in front of the beagles. Friday there were 17 packs of hounds to show. LOTS of good races and a good number of kills. Saturday we went to a special hunt where we got to hunt a nice tract of land that had not yet been hunted this year. Nineteen were killed the first drive. Nice piece of land. Had a creek on it that was big as the Edisto.. One of my old dogs managed to get on the other side of it running a big buck. We got lucky and got him to swim it back across. A good time was had by all.

nice hunting there . 17 packs is alot of hounds . even with collars they can be hard to catch at times . used to be our club would turn out 40 walkers at a time . now we run beagles and turn out two packs of 9 or 10 at the most . one goodthing we can catch the beagles much easier than the hounds we had .
