    Thanks Mark(offshore)!

    Decided to go with a Euro for one of the bucks I killed this year. Did just what was recommended in an earlier thread and I'm very pleased with the results.

    That came out great!! I did one on the big buck I shot earlier this year I will snap a photo after the season is over. I saved the cape not really sure if I want a full mount or not. Two more days!! Working on getting one more Doe....Mark

    Looks great Skirt!!! How did you get the base of the horns so dark?

    They were a little darker at the bases to begin with, but after boiling the head for some time, the steam must have done it because they're definitely darker now. I went over the horns with a gloss urethane too. I sealed the skull with an epoxy resin.

    did you cover the horns with aluminum foil before you boiled the skull?

    i heard that was the ticket to keeping them naturally colored. i havent had a chance to do one yet. i'll have to look up Marks post for the other details. yours came out great. when you are looking at the laqured antlers....do they have the shine that is in the picture? if they are too shiney for you, you could rub them with 00 steel wool and it will make them more of a satin than a gloss.



    where did you get the epoxy resin.
