TAX THAT DEER STAND???

RANDALL MN, A DEER STAND SEEMS TO BE A HUGE ISSUE IN MN, THE STAND WHICH RESTS ON 40 ACRES HAS COUNTY OFFICIALS IN A UPROAR.

THE STAND IN QUESTION, WHICH IS 8' BY 16', VINYL SIDING AND SITS 10' IN THE AIR ON TOP OF PHONE POLES, ALSO HAS WINDOWS, STAIRS AND A SHOOTING DECK.

THE OWNER CHECKED TO MAKE SURE HE DIDN'T NEED A BUILDING PERMIT OR VIOLATED ANY LOCAL LAWS, BEFORE HAND.

NOW THE COUNTY ASSESSOR SAYS "IT'S A STRUCTURE" AND "IT'S GOING TO BE VALUED" WHICH MEANS, $40.00 TAX PER YEAR ON THE STAND.

THE OWNER SAYS "ITS NOTHING MORE THAN A DEER STAND, IT SHOULDN'T MATTER HOW FANCY YOU MAKE IT."

Hunting to me is freezing your azz off for hours on end to finally get the prize.

Well allow me to put it this way! You may not like it, but I have 2 Handicap folks who hunt with me and one got wounded multiple times just so you could say those words without government consequences. He is a vet and he was handicaped keeping your country free. If he chooses to sit in there and be comfortable, he's welcome to it and they can take their tax and put it where the sun don't shine! I was gonna say alot more but it wasn't nice and I should not read emotion into a post that probably isn't there. I apologize if it sounds strong. But it's probably not how you look at it when you see those types of stands.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER WITH THE TREE STAND IN QUESTION,I HAVE BEEN IN A FEW OF THEM UP NORTH LIKE THAT ONE AND IN TEXAS, I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS, BUT I DO HAVE A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE TAX ISSUE THAT GOES WITH THIS STORY, THATS WHY I POSTED THE STORY. FEEL FREE TO VENT...
