Snow and more ducks

Friday morning with overcast skys the birds didnt fly like they usually do. By 830 am we had 4 or 5 in the pit blind and the wind started blowing hard northwest and the light switch flipped. Groups of wigeon and gadwall started working the cut corn just right and we had a blast. Ended up with 10 wigeon,6 gadwall,2 shovelers, and 6 teal.

Sat. morning i had a good buddy of mine and my brother in the blind and the birds flew decent in the cold air. I let them do the shooting and it was great just watching the birds work and calling shots. Left at 9:30 with 3 wigeon,2 gadwall,3 spoonies,4 teal.

Had a father and son from Wilson that a good friend of mine wanted me to guide that were pumped up and ready to kill some birds. Got them in the blind Saturday at around 11:00 am and it wasnt five minutes later and flakes started to fall. i told them to wrap up and get ready because its going to be on in just a few mintues. And that it was, teal and spoonies in groups up to 30 started working the deeks and the snow started coming down blowing side ways. In a little over an hour we had all three of our limits being wigeon, gadwall, spoonies, and teal. Ended up with close to 7 inches of snow.

This past week couldnt have been any better. Lots of ducks killed in the snow and the dogs did great and a fun time was had by all. Will be hunting most of this week and will have lots of pics to share after season. Hope everyone has a great last week..good luck.

Can't wait to see the pictures Brandon. i heard a lot of ducks while on the deer stand this weekend. i might have to try a mid day hunt this weekend if it is a good blue bird day.

We have started doing alot of mid day hunts and alot of them wind up being the best. My brother had a group and went in today at 10 a.m and were done by 12. Beats waking up early too! good luck!
