    Slow Old Dominion Ducking

Slow for us on Thanksgiving on the Pamunkey. Dead low tide in the morning meant hunting the main River. Pea soup fog got me all turned around and was delayed setting up a few minutes-- (I swear, I'm ging to remember my GPS from now on).
2 Ruddy's and 3 or 4 Butterballs was it until we got enough water to move into the marsh about 10:00. Went back into the marsh and hunted till noon-- 2 Mallards and a Gadwall.
We'll give the afternoon tide a go today. Many of the birds that were with us last weekend may have been passing through and moved South.

The number of birds are certainly way down from a week or so ago--- obviously most of our birds have moved on. We hunted the afternoon tide yesterday and were very luck to scratch out 3 Mallards and two Teal.
All in all, a very good Thanksgiving season for us. Usually we don't do much except for the Greenwings. This year we had pretty good numbers of big ducks for this early.
Let's just hope for some weather up North during the next 3 weeks and it could be a great winter season.

Lee, have you seen any Redheads yet???

Things are very slow here on the tidal rivers of eastern Virginia. Even guys that I know that have great goose spots are having trouble killing geese. Anyone think it is all the water around or the weather. The ducks that are around are very skittish.
