    Six men charged with hunting violations involving illegally taken deer

    DOVER (Jan. 27, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents this week arrested six men in three separate incidents for hunting violations related to deer.



    · On Jan. 15, two New Castle men, Terry L. Arnold Jr., age 36, and Joseph H. Moorehead, age 20, were both arrested on the C&D Canal Wildlife Area and charged with hunting over bait on a state refuge. Arnold was also charged with failing to display hunter orange during a firearms deer season. Arnold and Moorehead were fined and released.



    · On Jan. 15, two Wilmington men, George R. Heinly Jr., age 29, and Scott M. Keatts, age 36, were both arrested near Newport and charged with hunting on a state refuge and trespassing to hunt. Keatts was also charged with failing to tag a deer and possession of unlawfully taken game. Heinly and Keatts were fined and released.



    · On Jan. 22, two Magnolia men were arrested on private land near Bridgeville. Robert J. Cox III, age 24, was arrested and charged with possession of unlawfully taken game and trespassing to hunt, and Demar T. President, age 28, was arrested and charged with failing to display hunter orange and trespassing to hunt. Both were arraigned and pled guilty to the charges in Justice of the Peace Court No. 14 in Georgetown. Cox was fined $100 and President was fined $70.

    Two downstate men charged with game violations involving waterfowl

    MILFORD AREA (Jan. 27, 2011) – DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents this week arrested two downstate men in separate incidents involving game violations.



    · On Jan. 19, Perry D. Bendelewski, age 20, of Magnolia, was arrested on Milford Neck Wildlife Area and charged with hunting from a motor vehicle, possession of a loaded weapon in a motor vehicle, hunting from a public roadway and hunting migratory waterfowl with a rifle in an incident involving snow geese. A rifle was taken as evidence. Bendelewski was fined and released.



    · On Jan. 23, Caleb W. Shaw, age 25, of Houston, was arrested and charged under federal rules adopted on possession of untagged waterfowl in an incident involving Canada geese. Shaw was fined and released.
