Last week, I saw that monster buck in rain and 30mph wind.. People always told me the deer dont move when its crappy out. I think most people never went out in crappy weather, myself included.. Last year was the first year I went every chance I could in windy crappy weather. And I saw most of the deer on those days. I now dont like hunting nice crisp clear days. I see alot less deer on these days.
A guy who's place I shot at all summer had a number of really nice Kent County, Md bucks that were almost all shot in the rain.
The deer know there is less disturbance and danger when it is raining. They will be more nervous, but will move more, especially when the rut is on and it's a nice cold rain.
I sat one day in the rain this year and don't think I'll do it again....big bucks or not.
