Gotta report the bad ones along with the good ones. Sorry no carnage here...
It was raining on my wax job on the boat so I pulled the plug (Litterally before I got electrocuted) and decided to take a swing past the swamp... The late season there is different than the early in a lot of ways. The water has gone down so you can get to places not accessable early on... The other side of the coin is that 1500 guys have been slogging through there for about five weeks now and the good stuff is scarce.
Not only was the good stuff not in sight, the normal resident stuff was in short supply. Only saw one snake and that was heading out... Hit like six spots... Quick trips through trackless wasteland. No birds no frogs no ot even any bugs?
One stop seemed to hold all the bird life. Not shootin kind. Just stuff. Egrets, Ibis, Sandhill Cranes, Buzzards all in about a ten acre circle...
I was hoping to kick something. Drew a bead on a flushed bird but pulled up when I realized it was a sand piper. I'm not that hungry...EVen the doves never flew today. The blamless 2008 prediction seems to still be holding true...
