    Save the Magnolias...

Yesterday as I got home from school this colder weather made us go and check out if some ducks were sitting on our old pond. Sure enough 3 woodies were there and two didn't make it out!

Then Patrick and I setup with instructions from our Dad to shoot any buck that came out as they were shredding his magnolias... and to start bringing back some bambis against corn!
Patrick had been setup a few minutes when bam he shot and brought home some lamb. When he shot I had 5 does at my spot that didn't move. 30 minutes later this buck who has been around came in and with lots of shooting going on on the surrounding properties I went ahead and took him...
Not a big one but I did help out the Magnolias!!!
A few minutes after Dad got home and I was able to trade a bag of corn...

Wacked both deer in a hurry as it was cold and it's backstrap and jerky season again!

The next bite on a jig.
    PM,
I have always used a regular smoker for jerkey, but just got one of the little electric dehydrators, after tasting some of Overboards families jerky. They work really well.

Grind it, mix in the spice and squirt it.

    Nothing to it.

AHHHHH so that is what a mitre saw is used for ey!!lol!! Great work and looks to be good eating. If your interested I have got a venison loin recipe that is worth fighting for. It's basically a beef wellington using the deer loin in place of the beef with a little twist to the cheese stuffing mix. If you want more details pm me. Trust me its worth trying. All of my hunting buddies force me to make the dish whenever they kill.

Sushi, I'll have to get the recipe as these lazy boys only grill or cook hot dogs!
Robja, I wish the rabbits did well, unfortunately the owls seem to keep that population down...
Sea Dragging, we've been thinking of getting a real jerky Machine, what brand do you recommend?
The boys should be here shortly then off to Lake Jordan today, lucky guys!
