Recomendations on "Big Boy" tree stands/climbers

Right now I am looking at the Summit Goliath SS Climbing Treestand. Anyone have one of these? It looks to get better reviews than the API Alumi-Tech™ Magnum.

I am looking for something with a 350 rating. I dont need my big ass falling out of a tree!

I love my Summit D. I have API lock on's and there's nothing wrong w/ them, but my summit really grips the tree for climbing and is rock solid once I'm up there and hunting.

Climbing stands aren't easy for folks who are scared of heights, but with some practice anyone can master one.

You'll be 25 ft. up in no time.

I have an older API Magnum, and have used it for many years. I have always been safe and secure.

If you have a chance see if you can test them both out...

Buy a harness and use it.

Summit stands seem to be the best built for the money. My Lone Wolf would probably hold you, but not comfortably.

Amen on the harness! Also check the stand over the day of/night before each hunt welds, nuts etc.. My only bad luck has been user stupidity and those are for confession threads!

Dennis, my dad has used the same climber for a few years now with no problems, and he is a bigger dude. I'll find out what kind it is.

The guys I hunt with swear by the Ol' man climbers. One of them is 6'3" and 330 lbs. He uses it almost every day and has never had a problem.
