Well the leaf blowing ceased and i think he went inside. About 6:20 a big doe with twins and what musta been the sterile aunt came along.
One fawn was a BB w/ no more spots and the other was still spotted and trying to get a drink from momma. Momma and aunt no kids wouldn't let her drink. Shoulda zipped an arrow at one of the older ones as they were walking up but never had a decent shot. the BB decided he liked a plant at the base of my tree. Coulda dropped an arrow and stabbed him.
Three more came along the same trail two teenagers and a barely spotted doe fawn. The one teen musta been a slut last season and got herself knocked up. She was a cautious little lady and while they got more than close enough the 14 eyes weren't gonna let me get turned and drawn. I waited them out and the cautious chick took her friend and baby and headed back into the woods. Mom, aunt no kids, and the twins headed into the yard and out of sight.
No shots taken tonight, but if I had a hand grenade they woulda all been in a world of hurt.
Did fix the stand position. if it was 45 degrees to the right that nervous doe woulda been nervous backstrap and eggs tomorrow morning. She woulda gotten the sitting down shot.
gonna cool off later this week....gonna wait till then to hit the stand again. this 84 degrees shit is no fun. Did take a nice nap though.
No real bugs to speak of, just one lonely skeeter that is now part of my camo pattern.
back @ it...78 partly cloudy....few rain showers. no grass being mowed, but the other neighbors are getting a pool....luckily work has ceased for the day. no meat yet.....aunt no kids is on the menu though...she just doesn't know it.
