At least you guy are hunting. Season doesn't start here for 2 more weeks and that's earler that it's ever started. It won't get good for at least another month.
Sorry BOX....got stood up this morning. At least I thought I did.
Mike was supposed to pick me up at 4:30 and we were gonna set up within vid range so I could get some footage of a shot. Well I set the alarm for 4. Woke up. Pet the dog since she was already staring at me when I got up. Stared at the ceiling for a little and then woke back up at 5:45. DAMN IT, WHAT A LAZY ASS!!!
Shoulda gotten on my feet.
Anyway. Just talked to Mike...he was here at 4:40 and left a note on my truck. Gotta have a talk with him on his technique. BANG ON THE WINDOW. CALL MY CELL!!!! Looks like I used a strike way to early this season. I typically only sleep in one day a year....friday after thanksgiving. That damn turkey is some powerful shit.
So mike saw 6 at first light, Does. They munched on acorns the whole way in, and made it to 10 yards. He drew, released, MISS. shot low. Makes sense. 15-20ft. up a 10 yd shot is pretty damn steep.
You've gotta picture the shot. The arrow is a few inches below your sights. Remember that, it will hit low. That's if you control all of the other variables too. HA...like that'll happen.
So the 6 didn't take off too bad, just walked out of range and kept on munchin. 2 more came in and hung around for an hour or so. All of the deer would have been in range for me if I would have gone.
Time to get an alarm clock with electro-shock settings.
65 and breezy. wind direction is good but I wonder if they're gonna move......damn....red tailed hawk just nailed something 50 yds....phew...heart didn't expect that. log book shows I didn't shoot one here last year till 10/3....gonna change that this year.
damn this tree is swaying.....it's like bowhunting from the tower....but the green I see sure aint mahis.
Too damn windy for the deer tonight. It calmed down by dark but fields that have had deer in them the last few nights didn't tonight, so I guess It's not just "my" herd.
Gonna take tomorrow off unless I get motivated for some reason. Still have 58 decoys to burlap and some cork ones to finish by the end of the month....Anthony, still haven't forgotten.

I had a DU Committee meeting last night so no play in the trees' Driving out to the meeting I must have seen 100 or so on the roads and the Geese where everywhere! Now that is what I call Surf & Turf!
65 and a little cooler breeze. a good one too its in my face....a.little to th left.
cloudy and there's rain headed our way by tomorrow.....lots of deer along the roads last night. I hope they aren't full and fast asleep.....i really doubt it. The persimmons are starting to fall....still to tart for me, but the deer were eating them like crazy last year at this time....tree rats are up and foraging.....time for the deer.
noisey road tonight....everyone must be in a hurry to start the weekendl
