i ran over a black snake once and it started slithering in circles as it moved off the road, i figured it might come to eventually..

Nothing bothers me more than a snake i hate them things, yea i know black snakes keep the rodents down but god they creep me out.

and how tough are they i have shot copperheads with a .38 and rat shot and well they just slitherd off. i have a youth model H&R single shot 20 gauge that its sole purpose is killin these critters. 3 inch number 6's high brass.

I have seen this many times they are internal injured and die within a week to a month I see this all the time I have gotten calls from people that ran over snakes and it lived but most of the time wen I have a snake that has bin run over it dies with in 2 weeks and wen I open it up it was internal bleeding from ribs piercing internal organs. And it may have bin the snake was dead they can move after the snake has died via still active nerve ending and have killed a hand full of people that way but ratters almost never kill anyone and you were i florida they have the best envenomation unit in the US in tampa bay it is on my contacts in my phone it is called venom one.

I have not read the 4 pages or reply's to this post but I bet $50 that there is going to be a bunch of people saying all sorts of shit about how bad snakes are and how they kill copper heads. First copper heads nor rattlers are that common no cotton mouths are not ether and northern water snakes the most common snake around and look just like cotton mouths the only way to see if it is one is to look at the head. People think everything is a damn copperhead I was getting a black racer and someone said it was a copper head and I will pray for you what black copper black copper really how can somebody be that idiotic. %92 of people that get a bite from a venomus snake in the US are ether trying to kill it or trying to capture it (I take that risk it's part of the job) and snakes are always on the move(aside from water snakes) so stand back and let it be on it was you will not ever do anything it is said that in the woods you are always within 5' feet of a snake. All this unjust mindless killing just says something bad about all of us and are schools and culture. And in many places it is unlawful to kill snakes I have called fish and game on people for killing snakes $5,000 fine in a state park in VA. Do you think it makes you a bigger man or something well I got news for you it dose not! This is just as bad as people throwing stingrays,dogsharks,bluefish,skates,ect on the beach or in the water dead if you don't eat it don't take it! But on the other hand I do support reptile farms for food and skin I have eaten reptiles many times.

The only way snakes don't die all the time wen hit by cars is that they are made to sit under rocks all day and rocks are heavy.

I kinda like snakes personally, try not to ever kill one. I did kill a blacksnake one time that had gotten onto my aunt's porch and into a birdcage. I was gonna let it go but decided it might get back into her house cause it had already had one easy kill of a bird. I probably looked pretty crazy holding this 5' blacksnake by the tail while it still had a cockatiel in its mouth trying to decide whether or not to drop it and try and bite me. Then a bush axe separated its had from its body and that was that.

People should never EVER mess with snakes that is wen you call me licensed professionals it may sound funny coming from me but I have bin working with snakes my hole life and I do have a license to breed reptiles,sell reptiles,and capture them.
