Put'em to bed and Wak'em up no shot

Took my daughetr on her first spring gobbler hunt Saturday not before taking her out Friday evening around 19:45 and tucking one into a tree for the night well I don't think either of us slept much, 4:15 slipped out and headed for our spot. Aftersettling in and getting the video ready and having thing just right we waited for enough light to work him off the tree, well we where late he had already launched and with a cuttin/yelp series he responded and we could tell he was headed down to the bottom where the hens where at no way to head him off but we made several moves until 10:45 and called it a day great memories for her first hunt, put him to bed and woke him up just no sightings but plenty of gobbling. She is ready for a rematch next Saturday morning maybe the hens will start nesting up and he will get lonely.

sounds good, least you got to hear him. It's exciting to have one roosted and try to sleep with visions of what you hope will happen in the morning. Keep us posted and best wishes for your daughter to close the deal.

Know the feeling I have done done the same thing about 3000 times But there is always tomorrow. And you have got a good hunting partner. Sooner or later he will screw up.

    LOL
