    Wink Pulau Payar Fishing Trip - Fishing for Queenfish

    The queenfish or "queenie" is popularly known in Malaysia as the "ikan talang". This species also called whitefish or leather skin. Queen fish are a tropical sporting fish. They have speed, power, courage and will leap repeatedly in the effort to throw the lure or bait. This thrilling sport fish falls for live baits, dead baits, fish strips and garfish on ganged hooks, as well as a variety of lures and flies.

    THose look like fish we caught on and around Australia's Bathurst Island. The Aussies called them "Queenies", and "Skinnies" because of their very thin bodies...radically thin for their length. Great fighters and jumpers! Didn't eat 'em...after all, we had barrimundi for that...YUM!
