I just purchased a set of Summit Climbing Sticks today for $129.00 . I haven't hunted with them yet, but I did set them up in a tree in my yard today and I was very pleased. It took me no time to get all three attached to the tree safely and quietly. These things are the ticket when trying to get in and set up with out making much noise at all. I was really suprised at how fast I was up the tree at 16 ft. They are very stable and the steps flip over so you can set them the way you want to.
The only draw back that I can see is that I wish they came in a set of 4. I may get a set of the mini sticks. They look like they will come in handy on those trees that are a bit crooked. Conclusion....I HIGHLY recommend this product! I'm going to throw my screw in steps away! Next month I will be reviewing the TROPHYLINE Tree Saddle.

CLIMBING STICKS...
I really don't see the advantage with sticks. I would like to know which type of stand, i.e. climbing, hang on (w/climbing sticks) and or ladder stand, have the most hunters injuries.

I have never even considered using a lock on type stand or the tree saddle till this past season. I found myself hunting in areas where I couldn't get my climber up and I'm not a fan of leaving ladder stands in the woods. So I tried a lock on and some steps. Well I worked my self to death putting up the steps. I bought the Summit Sticks and they were a breeze to set up. As for injuries, wear your safety equipment properly and ALL the time and you shouldn't have to worry so much. |

CLIMBING STICKS
Yes, I have used them and clearly there is no advantage over a climber. I also think you are more Prone to a fall with these stands and climbing sticks and all that work that has to be done from the beginning to the end then, if, you have to move them at the end of the day and re-set them elsewhere you can lose your mind, it takes the fun out of hunting. Steps are a total mishap. I use a Summit climber and there is nothing better. No fuss, More versatile, especially, when you have to move daily.
Can't wait to hear what you have to say about the tree saddle. |

I use a Summit Climber as well, and so far have been very happy with it. I've started hunting "run and gun" style last season and have ran into situations where I can't get up where I needed to. I'll let you know how the tree saddle works out.
