Don't worry Frank, I am questioning my own skills right now as they are getting the best of me. Funny thing is, I had the right game plan but just could't close the deal. I chose this spot because it was a dark moon figuring they would feed early and this the only spot in this area (that I know) that is dropping the acorns good. However, those porkers sniffed out the acorns in the dark and beat the area to death.

To make my point... All the pics of those rootings were taken after I had packed up the stand to leave around noon, so they were all dry and thus not impressive in the pics. The pigs had been there right before I got their in the am because I could smell the fresh dirt on the way in, and even caught the wiff of those stink butts a few times. When dawn lighted, I knew I was a few hours too late. The whole area had been vacumed.

Per them being nomads... I have "Honey do's" next weekend, the weekend after is an Airshow that the wife wants me to take her and my nephew too, and then i go to Maine for a couple weeks of real deer hunting. When I get back the oinkers will probably be in a different county eating different things. So I guess the pigs are going to get a reprieve for now.

Now I have a question for yall... in the forth picture, (the one I took from the stand that has the mature pines) there are some bushes with berries (I call them goose berries). That's where the spike came out and fed the most. He was eating those berries like they were crack cocaine, though he did get after the acorns on the fallen oak too. What are those little bushes called? I wish I would have taken a close up. But does anyone know. They have little redish purple berries, about the size of BBs.

Hey Jared, thanks for the pics. Where about in Maine do you hunt. I'm only about ten minutes from the line. I have hunted Maine in the past.
