Bank rat one reason for a damage. I hate these freaking things
Today was horrible we only ended up with 19 more which should of been more. We had a few set offs with nothing in it. I don't think they moved that good last night.
Pulled all the traps so I can kill a deer over the next few days then will be back at it

Super cool stuff John. Love the hand in the trap! That's what happens to beaver chasers. You probably saw those furry little critters and got to thinkin bout something else. Pay attention John. That hand in the trap looks painful. How ya been? HOLWACHAGOT
Pretty good and yourself?? No I thought i had the lock on the trigger but it slipped off some how of it wasn't all the way on. It wasn't as bad as if it would of got the tops of my fingers then I would of had problems. Also it was on my left hand so I was able to get it off. If it was on my right I would of been in big trouble for 600 yards
Good Luck tomorrow John! I'll be out there myself in the afternoon. It's our last week for buck in PA, I have several Doe vacuum packed up already and I'm going out the rest of the week for a big boy!
From my experience with rats, I'd say they should start to move around more once we good some colder nights!
Nice PICS!
Yea paul its hard right now. We see signs of alot of rats but with the weather being the way it is their not moving. If it was colder every other trap would of had one. I found a piece on the way home so i'm gonna set it up tuesday or wednesday. Only 2-3 doz sets so its easy then i'll be hitting smaller piece until state ground comes in on jan 1st
skin, scrape and stretch takes about 6 minutes maybe alittle longger depending on the rat. Me and my dad do it so i skin he scrapes and then by that time i'm done and I start stretching and then he joins in. I'll take pictures on the whole process tomorrow when i start. It will be a start to finish
John That's cool. I didn't even think anyone trapped anymore. We did it alot when we were kids. I once got my hand stuck in a 330 conabare luckly onely one spring and it did hurt.
Damn, that's gonna leave a mark. They are some great shots.
I was checking a guys string with him one time many moons ago and I had my bow with me. He was trapping fox and we came on one of his traps with a skunk in it.
He asked me to dispatch him with an arrow so I stuck him. We approached the "dead" skunk and he wasn't quite dead...........think ya know the rest of the story. Saved a bunch of money on skunk scent that season.
