    perfect varmit gun? Weatherby?

Im looking for a new coyote gun....
I just got rid of an AR- 15 in .223 and I want to replace it with another .223 in a bolt action. heavy barrel.

I already have a little collection on predator guns: a tack driving savage .222/ 20ga over under and a single shot .243 heavy barrel.

I tried to order a Weatherby predator in .223 with a med heavy barrel, but there are none to be found. They dont plan to make more until Feb. or march, and I guess I dont have a problem waiting. Just wondering if I should be looking at another model that might be better?
I do not think I want a Rem. model 7, savage has a cool predator package... But I have a nice little trade in credit at the Gun shop and want to put it into a quality gun.

Well, for what its worth I would recommend a Rem 700 heavy barrel (not a bull barrel). My friend has a Savage 111 in .223 with the accu trigger and heavy barrel thats nice also and really cheap.

Definately check out the Ruger M77 in bull barrel. My best friend has that in .223 w a 1:12 rot and 26 inch barrel. Its a tack driver out to 300 yards (we don't have a range we can try past that). But its a heavy gun.... with scope its about 12 pounds, but has a bench rest stock and fully adjustable trigger. Gun and rings was ~$700 about 5 yrs ago.

Now the real question I have is why did you get rid of the AR? Was it not grouping correctly. To fast a rot for varmint loads? What kind of AR was it?

I have a RRA ar15 20 inch bull barrel that is 1/4 moa with my hand loads. I can knock a yote dead at 600 yards with it. It out shoots any other gun I have hands down, and shoots as well as my buddies Ruger. I am just curious if there was a particular reason. I know that often we just want a change of pace.

Here is a pic of his gun (and mine). Really nice looking and nice action. His trigger pull is right at 1.8 pounds. (Mine is at 2 pounds to prevent slam fires).
