I have an R1. You can go to the Beeman site and check out various models. They also have lots of info about differnet models for diffent uses, Power required for hunting etc. Not sure where to get the best deal. I bought mine from a small shop in Media. If you go for a scope, make sure it is designed for air guns. An air gun will blow up rifle scopes. I might even give you a good deal on mine.

Accuracy side note: Not all pellets are created equal.
If your having consistency problems try different
pellets till you find one that works best in your
gun.

Shoot pointed pellets. Pellet guns are rifled and can be very accurate.

I had a crossman 10 shot semi auto that just bit the dust. It killed a ton of rabbits and squirrels. Shot placement is key. Shoot at the head/neck joint and you'll have one dead rabbit.

If you hear the WHOP of a rib shot that sucker will jump 4 feet in the air and run off. With a good neck shot it'll just go to bed with a little bit of flopping and foot kicking.

Was at ****'s a while ago. They had pellets with a BB imbeded in em. Like a jacketed BB. Haven't tried them but may give the accuracy of a pellet with the penetration of a bb. looked interesting.

That takes away the thrill of the hunt. I pride myself on my suburban pellet gun hunting techniques and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let a box and some rat food replace me.

Sounds stupid.

Give me a .177 pointed lead.

Those damn high speed alloy things don't work out of standard <1000fps guns either. They're worse than steel shot.

You'll put your eye out.

But on a serious note. Do you bowhunt by chance? If so buy yourself a few blunt tips and practice on them little devils. A fluflu arrow is good for shooting squirrels in trees.

Personally, for neighborhood pest shooting, I prefer my trusty 22 an 22 CB short rounds. These rounds pack more punch than a pellet gun but are every bit as quiet. The only disadvantage is that the rounds have to be fed one at a time.

That is what I have been using for a long time to kill the squirrels that chew up my bird feeders untill.......I got my RWS model 350 pellet gun in .22cal. Man that thing can fling em. It says right on the package of the CB rounds 710 FPS. This pellet gun shoots between 900 and 1000 in .22 and is half as quiet.

That sure is fancy. I can't even begin to imagine how many books that took to buy. My Red Ryder was at least 7 books. I bet you were licking stamps for a couple years to get that baby.
