    Odd Deer Sighting

Yesterday, I looked out my back window to see about 5 deer slinking through the woods at the edge of the yard. One of the deer was a 6-pointer. Most of the bucks have shed their antlers by this time up here. Then this little buck proceeds to mount one of the does! I've hunted during the secondary rut before, but March???

They can, and will breed as long as they have hard antlers on their heads, or so that's what I've read.

saw a mating on 2-22 one year, buck still had a heck of a nice rack attached, it was pouring rain, that didn't seem to bother either party.

    Charlie,

The buck you saw probly had testicle damage or none at all... The buck will loose his horns this year and will grow them back in july, aug, and will be a velvet buck all season... Really wierd... I saw the same thing in Febuary and did alot of research!!!! Hope this info helped you out....
