Smile Nothin 400 Rounds Wont Fix

Well... In my other post about gun shows I moaned about needing a ccw to buy a gun around here any more. Dug out my old course certification and its dated 1996...
Figured I'd need to do the course again and I ought to practice before trying to qualify after so long. So I loaded up the car. I mean really loaded it. They charge a flat fee on the range so I was gonna get the most BANG for my buck.
This range fortunately doesn't force you to use their ammo which was exactly twice the price for crap reloads as the factory stuff I got during the weekend. Good thing cause I got in a groove and didn't let up til every round I had was spent...
I was shocked at how it all came back so quick. Even my pocket 380 was laying em all in black. 38 was dead on as ever and my new 45 surprised the hell out of me by also sending them bowling balls right where I told em to go.
Seems every time I go in there I get some guy next to me with a nine that loves to rapid fire 15 shot clips and send his brass over the top of the divider on top of me... Ahh, but I am the Deep and have the "cure" on standby. The hand toys get put away and the ol '06 comes out. You'ld think they'ld know what comming when they see a target sent to the far end. Some how they don't and when I let that big dog start barkin inside, the response is usually the same "What the f*** was that!?!"
I added the 12 and 20 guages to the blamfest and before you knew it I was out of bullets. Refreshed and a whole new person. Theres something theraputic about the smell of powder and that thump you get each time you squeeze the trigger.

I keep explaining to people how much cheaper than therapy shooting is.

BTW, I guess that Regent does fine for ya huh?

I was pleasantly surprised with it. First shot she showed that she drops em low from what I think the sight should be. I adjusted and found the happy place. Told myself "lay it in that hole" a couple times and she did pretty good. My 38 lays em low left from where the sights line up so I have made the adjustment and its instinct after all these years. The Regent was kinda the same story but low center. Just raised it up a touch and good to go. Real tight gun. After the second clip I had the magazine release get stuck. Cycled and dropped the slide a few times and she came right and gave me no more crap for the day.

As for therapy... Damn straight. Each "Whump!" peeling back layers of frustration til my soul was purged and head clear.

I took the boys river fishing this past weekend and while up in a creek at low tide, a big ole fat coon came wandering down the mud bank about 40 yds away.
Well, I bought a new toy recently and just happened to have it in the boat. 3 clips of 12 and the mud was a flying around that rascal.

after the smoke cleared (so to speak), son #1 said:
"Is the reason you didn't kill that coon because they are out of season dad"?

    "Yup, that's it son"

All I got to say is that if I'da had 4 clips, that fat ******* woulda been sucking up the tide in a few hours-- I'm sure of it.

Lol....I always get a kick out of the shots I see on these cop shows on TV and the shoot em up movies.

The guy that puts the 45 between the bad guy's eyes @ 30yds without even looking is a personal favorite.

Practice makes perfect for sure and I'll stick to my 12 00bk. when the going gets tough!

Used to have a Ruger MK II in .22lr that could do that 40 yard stuff. She'd land em right in the last ones hole. This 45 I just got layed em pretty good but I'm guessing at 40 I'd be lucky for em just to hit the paper. My 38 a touch better. My .380 not likely to catch paper at all at that range... With any of em that coon could pretty well go about its business without concern.
