No monster...but he will taste good

Been having a tough year here in MA...Bow season only saw a doe with triplets and a small 8 pointer. Sat saturday morning (dec 5th) and at 640 saw this one at 30 yards. Made sure there was nothing following her (Him) and dropped him in his tracks. After the shot a doe comes flying out of no where, I shot at it 3 times running but missed, oh well. Nice eating deer, 77 pounds dresses. Now to get another with the muzzleloader.

Nice eating doe, those backstraps sure will be good. Looks like a remington 870, slug I presume. How long is your season up there, is it also rifle, or shotgun only?

    Actually a little button buck.

No rifle season up here, Bow season opens up around the second week in october, shotgun is 2 weeks, this year it started Dec. First, then it is muzzleloader till new years, but you can use a muzzle loader during shotgun season.

That is an 870. 20 gauge youth...nice and light for when we get tracking snow, and I can shoot out to 100 yards with the slug.

Hmmm, thats a short season and no rifles too The 870's are some killing machines, I've got the 870 super mag in black synthetic. Those 3 1/2 inch 00 buck shots have been the ticket for me this year. Looks like most of your hunting is done in the woods, do you ever run dogs up there or how bout a push.

Pretty sure we can not run dogs. We do some pushes though, not yet this year. Usually 3 guys pushing with 3 guys on stand. Its all woods up here, Oak hard woods, Small pines, some beach trees, and lots of swamp area. We hunt a lot of small patches of woods, urban deer hunting. I have shot deer within 200 yards of my house with the bow, and some stands I can see houses from.
