Gotcha pic looked up close and compared to pine needles. Back ridge is loaded with beech trees. Lots of black walnut trees in the river bottom. Soak those black husks in denatured alcohol for a pretty wood stain.

Them be hickory nuts. Both the hickory nuts and walnuts have an outer "shell" with a hard nut inside. The hickory nuts will have "points" on the ends of the nut, and the walnuts will be round like a ball...both good to eat for man and beast.

Two Lane Hiway

BOX,
I think them there deer are making all of those traffic lanes out there, so they will have a good escape route mapped out when me and the "boys" roll into town!! These boys are pumped. Box, Box, Box, Is all I have heard for nearly a year now! LOL. They love the Box!! What is the season over there this year? I'm looking forward to getting over there myself. I am in quite a bit better shape health wise this year also.
