New bow for the new hunting lease!

Been looking around for a new bow since the one I have is about 15yrs old and hasn't been shot in about 10.

Checked out an archery shop not too far from the house and ended up picking up a new Parker Hornet 2 Plus bow. Parker isn't making the bow anymore but I thought $300 for package bow that sold bare for $639 was a good deal!

Looking forward to shooting again and hopefully sticking something brown come Sept!

    Tim

    Tim,

Nice looking bow, does Stacy Know??? I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about hunting with a bow. Hows that gonna work with one eye, not kidding? Do you shoot with both eye's open or do you shut one eye to aim the pin? Hope you get a chance to put it to use, with your heavy work schedule and all. I'm getting kinda serious about fishin' again, let me know when you're up for it. Frank

Looks like a deal to me. May need a little tunning to fit you but a few small adjustments and a LOTof PRACTICE and it will do the job just fine.I never buy a new bow always used. A lot of guys need the biggest baddest fast thing on the market and want to unload their barely used equipment.

    Buckeye,

You are so right, same applie's to gun's. I have bought only one "new" gun in my life, a .22 Ruger pistol. Alot of gun's have only a handful of round's run through them, before someone has to have the "newest". A half price (or less), shoot's like new rifle or handgun sound's good to me. Frank

Haha! Yes, Stacy knows. She bought it for me as my birthday present! I shot everything with both eyes open. I'm right eye dominate so the eye issue hasn't been an issue.
Heavy work schedule?! Who you kidding?! I hardly work at all. As for fishing, I'm going to give it until Sept before I push anything. After that, I'll be wanting to get out all the time! I'll be letting you know when I'm good, that's for sure.

It's my first Parker, REALLY like how it's shooting so far. Few more weeks and I'll be in the woods with it!

    Good luck to you too!

She's shooting really well so far. Have her dialed in out to 20m. Going to stretch it to 30m tomorrow.
You're right on the hardly used stuff. A lot of great deals out there.

    Tim,

She bought it for your birthday? This is like the 3rd one you've had this year! Didn't she just get you a rod and reel (or a gun) for your last brthday, like 3 month's ago? Son, you are one piece of work. By the way, does she have a sister???? Frank
