    need new waders

Have used Hodgemans all my life but am considering a pair of Cabelas Supermag 1600 or Cabelas Waterfowler 1200ti. Both are neoprene.
( the new Hodegeman models have had poor reviews with leaking at seams)

Biggest concerns I have with mail order are the inseam ( I'm 6'0") and boot size--- some wders are way over sized on their boots.

    Anybody used these waders?

I have the cabelas supermags as well. Got tired of cold feet all the time. This will be the 3rd season on them and I have no plans to buy any this year. No complaints........

Cabelas are great waders. We have had 3 pairs of the neoprenes for at least 5 years and they are still going strong. I also tried the hodgman route before these and had a wet crotch in January.

    Never again.

I also have a pair of Cabelas breathable waders that have enough room for a few layers of thick pants that are much more comfortable to wear. For me it always seems like the "knees" of a wader are about 5 " too low.

    Good luck,

I have the 1600 Cabela's 5mm neoprene armored front and back. I am 6'3" no problems at all with the boots they are size 12 Coming up on their 4th season. No complaints at all. With a liner sock and heavy outer sock they do not slip. Straps are comfy and I have never been cold in them. I hunt in some tuff stuff, briars, brambles, ice etc never once had a problem with any of the cabelas stuff leaking or punctures.

I have had the ultimate cabela's waders (straps sucked!) Waders section was great.

The Lacrosse 5 mm armoured did not last 3 seasons.

Then the oldy but goody, coldasamother 1000 denier wears like iron brush busters by Cabelas. Lasted 9 years though.

I must admit that i have two pairs that have lasted me a long long long time.. i got a pair or pro line neoprenes and they fit me well.. they are awesome and so warm it is rediculous..

i also spent some money and bought a pair of calcutta breathables and they are the cats meow also.. have had them for several seasons and they take a ton of abuse...

dont know anything about the cabels or hodgemans but i like what i got and wouldnt change a thing.

    Alan-

Redhead has inferior products to Cabelas IMO.

I have three pairs of cabelas 1600 waders. One pair is six years old and still does not leak, don't leave them next to a woodstove as it will melt the velcro. They are great waders. The only better waders are the Lacrosse canvas waders, that they do not make anymore.
