Brandon give me a call when you get to hyde thursday. The lake was jam packed this morning when I drove across it. A little bit of everything was on it. It looks like it is going to turn into a good afternoon to be in a duck blind and I am stuck in my office working.

Yesterday morning was abit on the slow side...very few shots ended up with one woodie. Had fun watchin the dog do its work in the thick weeds.

Took today off and slept in for a change then went a caught some trout.

Got a good spot picked out in the morning with woodies, teal, and mallards workin it hard. Hopefully itll be a good hunt.

Got some good news on our impoundment today, heading up there tomorrow after the family grubs.

Hopefully will have a good report when we return.

Thanks for keeping us updated Brandon. We hunted a river yesterday and took a 4 man limit of geese. Also worked some migratory mallards instead of the standard "popcorn" variety. You should have woodies from my lease by now. The flock of 60 is down to about 8-10.

    Keep givin them hell.

How are the sea duck numbers there? They're thin here, but I can't blame them if they just skipped us and headed to NC. Lord knows I'd go there too if I could. Or should I say will when I can.

    Happy T-day.

This morning we ended up with teal and mergs.

Saw right many teal early, some guys set up about 30 yards from us and sky busted the crap out of mallards and blacks workin our spread. That really got me goin Im so glad i have access so some private stuff, public hunting sucks at times!

Didnt see but a couple woodies this morning. Kinda weird yesterday morning they said they saw around a 100.

    Dave-

From what i have heard and seen, the numbers arnt bad. They still have some showing up to do though. We went out a couple weeks ago and ran up around 1500-2000 surfs and commons while scouting. It was rough as shit out there and couldnt get our decoys right so we didnt get much huntin in. But there are some birds out there.

A buddy and his group shot 67 a couple weeks ago on 3 hunts on the sound.

We thought about giving it a try but it looks like its going to be abit rough this weekend. Maybe next..

Good luck all..Happy Thanksgiving. Heading North here after lunch.

We had a pretty good weekend of hunting..tons of teal using our fields. Good sign, most of the big ducks are on the north side of the lake untill later in the season. We shot woodies, teal, and mallards yesterday. Didnt even pull the trigger today. The full moon last night killed us. Few teal and woodies killed this morning.

Our blind limited out yesterday morning by 830..4 guns. Had to work for the limit but we managed to keep at it.

Will post pics later, fishing in the a.m.

Brandon, you should check out your spots now after the full moon and the north wind. There are good numbers of ducks around home as of Saturday morning. Saw some decent numbers at the lease before the wind as well. Wish the season would end now so we would have new birds to shoot in Dec. If we get no more weather, the same birds will be here in a few weeks and educated. Sounds like you have been getting your share though. Good reports, keep 'em up.

Same here in Virginia. Although I was home bound , club members reported good numbers of Teal Wed. & Thursay and most were gone by Sat. As I recall, the front moved through late Friday afternoon here.

Thanks guys..from what i have heard alot of birds have shown up the last couple days. i cant get down to the camp untill thursday evening but im hoping it will be a good hunt friday and saturday.

From what some of the well known guides and locals have said, more birds are on the lake as of now then there has been in the last 10 years. The game Warden had told us there isnt but 10% of the impoundments flooded this year due to no water. The good news is.. we are part of that 10%. We are hoping its going to be one of those years.

Hunted the lake on Saturday and did very well. 21 ducks , 16 teal , 3 ringnecks , and 2 mallards. We finished up at 814. Friday we hunted Currituck and also did well with 7 greenwings , 2 widgeon , 2 gadwall, and a redhead. This am had 4 mallards , 3 teal , and 1 gadwall. The lake deffinently seems to be holding the birds right now. Its like the old days when there wasnt an impoundment every 100 yards.

Brandon good to here you have water. My uncle has some blinds out in the sound and they killed 3 cans on Saturday. Good to here.
