Sounds like it was slow for most. Seems we still have plenty of teal around, couple friends of mine shot some this morning. Tons of teal around pamlico.

We decided to hunt the river this morning. Foggy as hell! Ive never ran in such fog, finally stopped short of our destination and set up on a cut through. We had severel birds come on top of us less then 20 yards but couldnt see a thing. Finally after the fog setteled down we picked at a few birds. Shot 3 drakes and a hen, one drake some how wondered off. Nice easy hunt this morning. Will be back at it Wed. Morning.

Somewhere around 30 thousand of the fast little buggers just left our main refuge up this way in the last week or so, they have to be in NC by now.

I heard of some late Blue Wings shot up in Currituck as well. Ssaw a couple wads of Greenwings, but nothing to get excited about. For what it is worth, the divers are staging good and are on the Great Lakes earlier than last year. The Scaup have ALL left their summer grounds and are staging on Lake Erie and that Lake near Detroit Michigan.

A couple Clippers in the midwest, and a good Nor'easter above Jersey and we'll get some birds--- keep our fingers crossed.

There was a good snow up in the maritimes this past weekend, and I saw plenty of Geese on their way down both Friday and Sunday.

I have a good feeling about this year.

I could have killed 500 geese on Saturday! Mixture of local and migratory birds, they flew around us all morning long. Wind, rain...it didn't matter. Then they did it all over again late in the afternoon. When Thursday gets here, I'm throwing some steel at some geese! Ducking was slow on Sat though...no wind until about 8am and then it howled. Seemed the birds flew real early and then hunkered down.

Saturday we had eight ducks. 1 teal , 2 mallards, 4 wood ducks, and a ring neck (9am). Had to get home early to hook my house into county water. I could hear some shooting in the mid afternoon with the wind but nothing great.Overall I was very disapointed with the number of ducks I saw. This morning produced two gadwalls. Starting out as a banner one I tell ya. Hopefully we will get a strong clipper around the 24th.

Glenn, I have seen a mess of greewing teal around here but just haven't been able to get them to do right. Maybe Sat at our teal hole in VA will change our luck.

Brandon the lake is full of birds. I go across it every morning and they are everywhere. I don't take the time to stop and see what is there but by the last culverts on the lake road there are tons of swan and geese every morning and ducks are scattered all the way up and down the lake road. You should have brought your rod and reel with you still a lot of slot sized drum in teh sound along with flounder.

I saw several guys slayen the trout aswell headin out to the sound.

The lake does have some birds on it but many more should be showing up soon. I didnt see but a couple thousand sittin on the lake this passed week, some swans aswell as canadas. The snows seem to have showed up in decent numbers aswell. Lots of blacks and teal on the lake. Just waiting for a good push....

Will be on the river in the a.m..

    Brandon
