    Question Name That Poo #2

You might remember a while back I was stumped by a mound of caca... We had guesses from bear to coon and to date I have not been able to quite figure it out with any certainty...
I'll cover a few basics again. A block from a salt water river in a upscale suburban neighborhood. Limited woods and some marsh land not too far away. As a kid I hunted ducks and occasioanl pheasant or even an odd quail or two. There were a few bunnies and squirrels but they seldom ventured where it was legal to shoot.
A few years ago the first deer appeared and they have been getting thicker each year. Last year I saw my very first Rumson turkey and even my very first coyote. I have seen that same coyote again this year. Small bugger. A runt or stunted or whatever to where its only about half the size of a regular one.
Out by my van this morn I heard flies and smelled caca. Went over and looked and there was another big pile of poo. Before I could get my camera it rained hard for a while. Went back and the scat had washed down revealing bones, fur and even a full skull of what I'm thinking is a rabbit in the remains of the steamer.
There has not been a bear sighting ever in this town or surrounding ones but its got me wondering... The last mystery scat was full of berry seeds and this one full of bones and fur. Gotta have a big bung to pass a skull in tact!
    Bear? Coyote? Monster?

Seems rather large for a coyote.. and i did a search on bear poop and the first came up with berries and then animals also!

Maybe you got yourself a bear.. They had one running up the garden state parkway a few weeks ago!! wouldnt put it past one to be in your area.. Since i know where you live. lol

I am with vinnie. probably a bear. Recently in Raleigh there was one running around an upscale neighborhood(garbage is usually higher quality and greater abundance of pets and rabbits) Last year Durham had one as well.

The first pile was in a fenced in pool area. I can't figure how it would have got in and out without wrecking the fence which is part wood and part chain link?

My Mom is more stubborn than even I am and just won't bite on the idea that a bear might be around. I have seen no other signs but I can't eliminate the posibility...

Yes the skull in that pile is about two to three inches long and not quite two inches around... If its a coyote it would have to have one really sore ass...

It seems like a bear and i say that because of the roundness of the pile of dung!!

When a coyote, cat, dog, anything like that poops they continue to move a little and it is more of a scatter than a straight plopper.. that would have been a large pile.. dont know if a coyote would leave it like that.. and if it was it would have had a sore butt and would have to be a HUGE coyote!! lol

Good luck paul! go to bjs or costo.. for 150 bucks you can get some surveilance! lol

I was thinking laying out some baits on a couple 80wides... Bridle a bunny on one and string some berries on the other... Just wondering what leader would work. I could rig an apple for a pitch if a deer happens to come by...

We had a small 150 -200lb male running around on my side of the river last year - fish & game just said leave it alone... may have found a sweet spot over at moms... maybe 4 miles from me...and they can swim that river real easy. put some peanut butter out and a trail cam...

Aha! Maybe the bear idea isn't so insane after all... As for that twelver is living between Sailers Way and Buena Vista... I can't be sure but its possible that it may be moving once in a while to a place I could actually hunt it. Just posted about big trees with rubs and wondering if it could be him.
As for Rumson, its nuts. As A kid I had the lock on all that swims, flies or crawls around here. Never any of the stuff we have now. Deer all over, a coyote or two. a slug of red foxes, even turkeys... Now possibly a new car seat cover for the rolling tackle box...
