Today was my last day of duck and it went out with a bang. I invited some friends with me from Penn., Delaware, and Southern Md. for grand finale and it turned out great.
On the morning hunt the entire river was froze up so things didnt turn out how I had planned but we did get 1 goose and I got to see where the birds were roosting the night before and I decided to set up there for the evening hunt.
On the way to the boat ramp for the eveing hunt my boat slid off the trailer when I was going around a turn and back end slid out into the street while the front was still attached. A couple of my other buddies that was going hunting were on thier way to the ramp too and helped me put the boat back on the trailer. The boat only has a little ding on the back corner and the engine was fine. At this point I think my day can only get better and it did.
Right when we got there for the evening hunabout 60 geese came over us but we werent ready and no one had thier gun loaded. About 30 min later the duck action turned on. it was a pretty constant of singles and doubles coming into us and we ened up with 16 ducks. 1 hoodie, 1 buffie, 2 blacks, 2 gadwalls, and 10 mallards. 3 more mallards that were hit did get away.
Thor fighting his way through the ice to bring this black duck back.
Tye, Dusty, and Thor.
My buddy riding next to me same boat as mine but his is 2 feet bigger.
Te ding in my boat after it flew off my trailer and got dragged down the street.
Great way to end the season jtowne. Sorry to hear about your accident but doesn't look too bad. Looks like an awesome shoot with some quality ducks. Congratulations. Thanks for report and pics.
