    My camo experiment

Hunting the burbs of philiadelphia pa as i do, alot of my places to hunt are archery only and small patches usually boardering up to a private residence that i aquire acess to. It never fails when we scout these areas out, wether its to just scout or to hang stands pre season how often we jump deer only to have them run say 30 yards and stand there looking at us like ...what you gonna do. Go in there all cammoed up and you cant get with in 50 yards of them...my theory is they get accustomed to human presence, and if they can clearly make out what you are...although a threat they will stay closer if your dressed in your street duds. When cammoed up they know your there but the just cant distinguish exactly where you are and that makes them much more spooky. Just for shits and giggles 2nd season archery i tried it out, every time i tried an afternoon sit on one particular stand, i would spook a few bedded down does from near my stand....never could get close enough no matter how slowly i crept, tried not creeping and just walking directly to the stand it didnt matter ...as long as i was comoed up they spooked. So i went for it in jeans and a carhart flannel.......22 yards this doe just gave me that familiar ...what you gonna do look, well ill tell you what im gonna do....draw...aim....release....thwack, guess she didnt expect that.....so i will try the method again, but ill wait untill after i sit a few weeks cause i dont want to chance running a decent buck off, but ive been pretty dam close to some nice bucks while scouting, something tells me they will fall for it too.

I tried the same think 2 years ago while setting my stands. Like you said, they did the same exact thing!

Now I know when the season starts they change their habits, but it might be worth a try! Let us know how you make out with this method!

Try riding around the place on a lawnmower or with a leaf blower!! I've seen the deer stand well within range of the neighbors lawn guys. Last week I watch a pregnant woman with a stroller walk right by a doe and two fawns in my back yard. There's a walking path, not just a random woman

I tried to sneak up on the doe and still got in range, but she was on high alert.

You might want to try dressing like a pregnant woman too

    Don't forget pics.

Maybe if you weren't talking on the phone you could have been a little more stealth.

The last two I got while I was walking were with my longbow and I was wearing shorts and a tshirt. I take a daily stroll on the path around my property and twice Ive carried the big bow and walked within 35 yds. 2 deer down I think your right a casual walk will put you closer than trying to sneak up, it just gets them spooky.
