This morning's hunt

Maybelle and I made our final paddle of the year into the woods this morning and we were greated by decoying black ducks.

Maybelle made an epic 8 yard retrieve.

She is 25 pounds of duck fetchin machine.

She is a little outmatched at a full grown Canada on land, but has fetched one in the water, has no trouble with big ducks and brant.

She don't rock the boat.

Thanks guys, she was proud.

Maybelle did good this year, her second year of hunting and she has really started to figure it out.

She did not get to go hunting everytime I went, alot of the sound hunting, she is not cut out for, some of the blinds are not dog friendly either.

The black duck was a funny retreive. She did not see it fall and I sent her as soon as he splashed. She ran down the shore line 50 yards swam out about half way and looked back at me like "you did not hit it" I whistled her back to the flapping duck, she picked it up and strutted down the shore.

BTW this one was one of 12 different Black Ducks that decoyed to me that morning, like Lay's Potato Chips, its hard to stop and just one.

She did good, this was her 20th retreive of this season.
