They work for ducks especially in a corn field but we only run them for the 1st 1/2 hour of light because they flare geese.
On the water they do well for puddle ducks early in the season not so much after Christmas as the ducks get educated .
Deadly on dumb assed divers all year.
The biggest negative is hauling them around.

GO WITH THE MOTION...
What Bert Said---- I'll add that they tend to also be very effective in the fog and a dark dreary day--- once the sun hits the tree line in the morning its time to turn them off. We pack ours away after Xmas except for thick hardwood swamp hunting. We've had mixed success with the divers.----
Find a puddle put out 2 hen decoys and add the drake mojo, wait for day light. Great for decoy shy ducks.
Great for ducks but it flares geese. I'm looking to a get one of the floating bluebill mojos for sea ducking and divers this year.
We stuck a long pole into the mud out in front our blinds and just attach the regular mallard mojo on it when you set decoys the take it when you leave.. By the time the Blue Bills realize its a mallard its too late . And Yes I Believe in MoJos for most ducks with exception of woodies . seems to flare these woodies around here.
I was getting a floater for cans, blackheads and buffies in the Wye river where its even too deep right in front of the blinds for the poles even with an extension. I've used black flags for ducks before but I don't think they work near as well as the mojos to get attention.
I agree with what's been said.
I broke mine years ago and don't use one unless some friends want to drag theirs out.
They definitely flare geese so get a switch for it. They work great in fields for ducks. I like to put mine right next to the pit so I can pull it in if geese are working the area.
wind ducks are nice for over the water b/c there's no electronics to worry about. A little wd-40 and the bearing stay nice and happy. I took an old herters goose body and stuck a broom stick through it with about 3 ft sticking out the top and bottom of the goose. The bottom got a 5+lb weight, and the top got a wind duck painted black. I attach a regular decoy line to the goose, and it works great on scoters and other divers. Not a must, but it definitely helps.
I have a buddy in NoDak that is putting a black duck skin on a baby mojo. It should be interesting to see if it works a little better.
