Me and the little one score big...

Well my four year old son and I went deer hunting tonight...we got there around 3 pm and got the pop up blind setup...chairs fixed just right...put some old apples out down at the edge of the field where the deer have been coming out in the evenings...and I'll be darn if they didn't come out of the one spot we didn't expect...I was in the wrong position to shoot them right handed so I did it left handed...shot two does left handed...i must say I think I shoot better with my left...never tried that before...but it worked...I didn't get any pictures but I sure do have a happy boy...

yes I am right eye dominant...but it felt really natural...except the bolt was on the wrong side :P

he's four...been hunting with me since he was three...thats what made it all the more special...here is a pic from last year...I took him four times last year and we killed a deer three of those four trips...

The first time I took him we had a doe come out right at dark...I shot her and she dropped on the spot...we get out of the tent and I'm reloading the ML when he just takes off running towards the deer...now I'm screaming for him to stop and running him down across the field...as I'm running I'm watching the deer and seeing she's not moving with what had to sound like a freight train coming down on her I back off so that we both get to her at the same time...now I'm thinking he's gonna stand there and be grossed out...hell no...he's definitely my son...he reaches down and grabs her by both ears picks her head up and says "look dad you got a WHOPPER"...he's been hooked ever since...

I really can't wait until we move down to the beach...I'm excited about the thought of him behind a screaming reel with a big king, dolphin,or 'hoo...
