After 2 years of trail camera pics of this deer and more hours in a stand than my brother cares to admit too, Bill killed a 16pt 165-170 gross score buck on October 4th. He knew the deer was bedding very close to his stand so he went in and placed a ground blind in a position that he could crawl to it from the adjecent field. He also had enough trail cam pics that this buck would only come to the corn every 8 days. This deer was on a very specific schedule (as crazy as it sounds). October 4th was that day and just so happened to be after several days of heavy rain. After a 10 minute stand off as the deer stood facing the ground blind at 30 yds he finally turned and presented the shot. And as they say the rest is history.
Thanks for the comments on Bill's deer. He worked very hard to kill that deer.
After passing on several nice bucks, I guess my release finger was getting a little itchy and I killed this 3 year old 8. He needed another year or two but I just needed to kill something before we get into our waterfowl season.
