There are not many eight points that make book. That's a fact. But I'll tell you something that is the honest to god's truth.

About ten or fifteen years ago, I was hunting down in South Texas near Freer. They have a kick ass deer contest down there. Couple of them actually. Anyway, stopped in to see how the contest was going. I saw and held in my hands a SIX POINT rack that was 26 inches wide and scored 165 inches.

I gotta tell ya. That had to be one of the biggest six points ever.

Eight points don't generally get a lot of respect but they do when they get that big.

My best estimate is right around 170". Next time I'm up at the farm I'll see if I can score it. The owner wasn't sure, but she was gonna ask her son for me.

IMO any 8 over 140 is a BIG 8.

I wonder if we're looking at him on the hoof? Guess I should hunt up there more often.
