I think Admin is going to let me have this space
Mans best friend
Had to bite the bullet and put my yellow lab down this afternoon. Talking about being miserable, the hardest thing ive had to do yet. She was 12 and lived a great life and was spoiled to death. She had Diabetes for the last year and a half and it put a hurtin on her. And the heat from the last week or so made it worse. Although she never complained about a thing, even when she got into my topwaters and had a 100 or so stitches in her mouth. I hate to see her go but it was time. At least i know shes now not in any pain. This shit deffinitely sucks.

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
Brandon - Hang in there. 4 Years ago, I had to put down my 14 YO Black lab - She had kidney failure - Had to give her an IV twice a week for her last 6 months - but the last week was bad - she wouldn't eat and had trouble walking. It was painful to me - but thankfully she was no longer suffering.
Your next dog will not be the same, but it is the difference that makes each special.
Hang in there

Time will heal the hurt and memories will be enjoyed as years pass. Mans Best Friend.

I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could.
Brandon, nothing any of us says is going to take the edge off now. Only thing I can tell ya is that eventually all the bad feelings about what your missing out on will eventually be replaced with all those thousands of good memories of what you did have. Right now she's tearing the hell outta some hookless topwaters, tail wagging, enjoying herself.

Hey Brandon,
Sorry for your loss. Been there, done that and it wasn't easy but there is some peace in knowing they no longer suffer. I have a yellow that's 10 now and showing signs of slowing down a bit. There's no love like your best friends.

Brandon,
Sorry for your loss and I mean loss! I have been a dog man since I was in diaper's. Have had many great dog's, each with their own personality. If you didn't love her you wouldn't feel like you do, but rest assured she loved you as much or more. No doubt, the truest friend on earth. Don't worry about "replacing" her, because you won't. If you have that kind of feeling for a dog, when the time is right, you'll do what is natural. You owe it to her and the next one. Frank
